Biography

Frank Brown is a member of the Heiltsuk First Nation from Bella Bella BC.

Currently Frank is an Adjunct Professor at Simon Fraser University, Resource and Environmental Management Department. He has developed and is implementing an Aboriginal Eco Tourism Training Program through a partnership between Heiltsuk Tribal Council, Vancouver Island University and North Island College.

He has served as Events Planner Tribal Journey to Bella Bella 2014; Director for Aboriginal Tourism BC; Chairperson of the Heiltsuk Economic Development Corporation; Founding Director of the Heiltsuk Integrated Resource Management Department; Director of Land and Marine Stewardship for the Coastal First Nations- Great Bear Initiative; established and Program Manager for the FP Innovations, BC First Nation Forestry Program. With his wife and partner owned and operated SeeQuest Adventures which was chosen as best practice for sustainable tourism and presented to 2000 UN Conference on sustainable tourism.

Active in indigenous community development through his company SeeQuest for over 30 years in youth, community, natural resources, tourism, forestry, fisheries and stewardship. Frank will share foundational elements of indigenous place based values and ethics validated through coastal first nations fundamental truths regarding biodiversity, sustainability and stewardship as well as Tribal Journey- a Vessel of Youth, Culture, Community Empowerment.
